New York State Broadcasters Association Intern Program
As part of its community commitment to serve the public, WNED has worked with colleges and high schools in and out of the Erie County area in numerous training and internship programs. These programs prepare the participants for possible careers in broadcasting and related professions.
This year we are pleased to be able to offer a paid internship to a high school senior or college undergraduate student interested in a career in radio and television broadcasting. The New York State Broadcasters Association in conjunction with WNED is sponsoring this internship. Details of the internship are as follows:
- Open to all high school seniors and college undergraduate students at least 17 years of age, but less than 22 at time of entry, who are residents of New York State or attending school in New York State.
- The internship will consist of a maximum of 180 hours at a rate of $7.00 per hour. These hours will be spread over a six to eight week period of time and will be worked out with the student upon selection.
- The internship will offer work experience in the areas of public relations, news & public affairs, TV production, sales, TV traffic and engineering.
