| Summary: |
The Director of Education and Outreach will bring a high level of professional knowledge and judgment about school and community services, as well as expert project management skills to a fast-paced department with an expanding portfolio of educational outreach initiatives.
The primary responsibility of the director will be to both oversee and contribute to the successful design and delivery of high quality learning services, outreach ventures, and educational content initiatives that grow from WNED and PBS priorities and opportunities in service to teachers, students and families in Western New York, Upstate New York and beyond.
The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department. This work will include development of project action plans, budgets, timelines, agreements and reports. The Director will also supervise managers of learning and technology, community outreach, and early childhood/family literacy. The Director will be a “go-to” person who monitors and controls both the creative quality and timely delivery of services and content across media platforms (face-to-face services, online services, outreach events, web content, print material, marketing tools, etc.). |

Serve as the managing editor for a variety of print & electronic content including web websites, theme month program guides, teacher guides, facilitators kits, marketing material |

| Qualifications and Education Required: |
 |
- 7-10 years of educational outreach service management to schools and community
- Seeking a high-energy, thoughtful administrator who can contribute to both the qualityand quantity of services in a fast-paced, creative, & collaborative environment.
- Job requires exemplary professional judgment and project management skills
- Need a person with strong skills in both interpersonal and public communication
- Seeking a team player, able to take direction and support identified station priorities
- Must have proven, hands-on experience with office software tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s preferred) in related fields
