| Summary: |
- Manage activities of the Corporate Communications Department.
- Responsible for corporation communication, branding, media relations, publication and new media strategies and plans.
- Ensure quality and consistency of all communications materials.
- Manage promotional activities and campaigns for local and national projects.
- Oversee web site and management of new media communications activities.

| Develop and execute branding, positioning and institutional communications strategies; ensure that a unified brand and distinctive image is incorporated into all communications activities and materials. |

Manage the activities of the Communications Department; oversee all regular communications activities including the monthly Program Guide, monthly promotion priorities, press releases, regular board reports, annual report, and other related activities; ensure the consistency and quality of all communications materials; work with other departments to ensure their communications needs are met. |

Manage the WNED web site; coordinate new media activities including working with other departments to create and maintain a coherent organization wide strategy and approach. |

| Manage detailed communications plans for local and national projects including working with public relations firms, freelance communications consultants, and others; oversee effective use and placement of advertising expenditures. |

Develop and maintain relationships with local and national media contacts, PBS, NPR and other national organizations, and other communications entities as required to achieve communications objectives; represent WNED at appropriate local and national meetings and presentation. |

Manage communications strategies related to local and national fundraising activities. |

| Work with senior staff on messaging, press contacts and other public appearances and presentations; work with senior staff to incorporate communications and new media perspectives into overall management and strategic activities. |

| Qualifications and Education Required: |
 |
- Minimum of ten years of corporate communications/public relations experience.
- Excellent writing skills (samples required).
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience and skills.
- Experience with development and management of communications strategies and plans.
- Experience with web and new media activities.
- Experience in departmental and project budget management.
- Experience handling multiple projects, activities and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree.
