Pie in the Sky – New British detective series premieres August 5!

Tales of crime and culinary wizardry are interwoven in a drama series about a reluctant detective who has a passion for food, a talent for cooking and a dream of buying his own restaurant, Pie In The Sky.
Henry Crabbe (played by Richard Griffiths) has reached the end of his tether as a plain-clothes Detective Inspector. However, on the eve of his retirement, he is suspended from duty. His boss, assistant Chief Constable, now has him exactly where he wants him. Crabbe is free to indulge in his restaurant but is always on call when cases need solving.
Griffiths is an English actor of stage, film and television. He received numerous awards for his role in The History Boys, including the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play. Griffiths also is known for his portrayal of Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films and Uncle Monty in Withnail and I.

The Best of Both Worlds (Aug. 5): Henry is blamed for letting a gunman escape and is suspended from police duty. As a non-serving officer, he does not have the option to resign. He nonetheless moves forward with plans to open “Pie in the Sky” and pursues a dual career.
The Truth Will Out (Aug. 12): It’s opening night at Pie in the Sky! Meanwhile, the search is on to find a missing detective. Once discovered, the man provides evidence that links a high-ranking policeman to an enormous theft. And Henry must expose the truth.
An Innocent Man (Aug. 19): Police hold a stakeout at Pie in the Sky to try to expose the illegal dealings of a regular customer. So why does Henry want to sabotage the operation?
Once A Copper (Aug. 26): The Crabbes plan a gourmet evening for visiting Japanese investors, Henry spots a presumed “long-dead” villain who makes an alluring offer to keep his new identity secret. |
