More than 82,000 people live in the 81 square miles of Niagara Falls, Ontario nestled right on the Canadian/U.S. Border. Nearly twenty of them recently volunteered to film some of the points of pride of their hometown. The result is OUR TOWN: NIAGARA FALLS CANADA, WNED’s 16th community “video scrapbook” production.

The volunteers also were interviewed about the topics they covered, and their commentary serves as the narration behind the program.

Dan Frigault shares the rarely seen Decommissioned Hydro-Electric buildings, built in the 1900's. Due to his unique position, Frigault presents footage of these historic landmarks; one of them so well preserved that they truly are “in a museum state.”

Dean Tedesco presents a view on the revitalization of downtown that seeks to showcase the feelings of many residents and visitors, a commonly held view that “Niagara Falls is a world stage. It's a great investment.”

Tune in to discover what else makes Niagara Falls, Ontario a distinctive place ― from its tourist attractions and entertainment to its businesses, cemeteries and hidden gems.’s OUR TOWN series helps build awareness about regional treasures in Western New York and Southern Ontario.
