Buffalo's Houses of Worship
Among Buffalo's treasures is her rich architectural heritage. Buffalo
can boast masterpieces from three of America's pioneer architects;
Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd Wright and Henry Hobson Richardson,
but some of the city's most inspirational architecture is sacred.
A closer look at this rich architectural tapestry reveals some of
the finest stained glass in America, incredible terra cotta ornamentation
historic instruments and intricately carved woodwork. WNED explores
twelve of these architectural gems in Buffalo's Houses of Worship.
These
sacred landmarks dot the skyline, rising majestically; towering
over the city neighborhoods they helped shape. This 60-minute program
produced by Christy May and edited by Christopher Thomas, will take
viewers on a tour of some of Buffalo's most beautiful and certainly
some of her most inspiring architecture. Shot in high-definition,
Buffalo's Houses of Worship will provide breathtaking views
that allow our television audience to experience these awesome landmarks
of faith.
