WNED Kid Fest is an annual event bringing in approximately 3000 guests to the WNED Studios. The two-day family event features a variety of educational activities, including appearances by various PBS Kids characters, including Sid the Science Kid, Buddy from Dinosaur train and Curious George. Stage show performances, crafts, face painting, interactive games and presentations and an exclusive opportunity to have breakfast with the characters are part of the event.
This community outreach event is designed for families looking for an affordable, fun event to break up the long winter months in Buffalo. It is a way for WNED to thank its current members for their support, cultivate new members to the station and to highlight and connect you and your organization with WNY and Southern Ontario families.
Antiques Roadshow has been enjoyed for over a decade by young and old alike and it remains an extremely popular program on WNED.
It has been said that thousands of people wait in line days before a taping hoping to be one of the few who gets their treasures appraised. Who doesn’t have that unique lamp in their attic? Or maybe some vintage jewelry that was given to you when you were younger? It is an exciting mystery to see how much a treasured item is worth. Those who love Antiques Roadshow and antiquing in general are sophisticated, college educated, artistic and love the history and stories behind each piece.
WNED offers its viewers an exciting opportunity to get involved in a community oriented and local version of Antiques Roadshow by hosting its own “Antiques Home Show” at the WNED studios in Buffalo each spring.
