A few centuries back, plays had what we call “incidental music” which served the same function that movie music plays in cinema. In the current run of the play “RED” at “seven-ten Main” abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko listens to a lot of classical music. WNED’s Peter Hall found out why.
WNED ǀ WBFO Buffalo-Toronto and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra are pleased to announce the dates for the 2014 JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition. The competition will be taking place June 4, 5 and 7. Each event takes place at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinals will take place in the WNED Studios in downtown Buffalo on June 4 and 5 with the finals being held at Kleinhans Music Hall on June 7. The semifinals will be broadcast live on Classical 94.5 WNED and streamed online at wned.org.
