Initially a college intern with WNED -AM 970, Omar Fetouh served as a part time reporter and program host for seven years before assuming his current, full-time role in July 2009. In addition to reporting the news and anchoring newscasts, he is the local host of several national programs and helps produce the station’s local programs and on-air announcements. In addition, he updates the station’s Web site (wned.org/news).
Omar is a Buffalo native who still lives in the city. After attending St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, he went on to Syracuse University and Canisius College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. He has contributed to numerous AM 970 Associated Press staff awards, and in 2007 received an award from Buffalo Spree magazine for “Best Radio Voice.”
Omar is an avid sports fan who enjoys film, travel, live music and playing the guitar. |
