My indoctrination into the world of classical music began at an early age.

My mother, an avid music lover, would play her albums for my siblings and me. As the music played, she encouraged us to dance, sing, draw and otherwise interpret what we heard. In this way, I learned how to emotionally feel everything from Copland to Rachmaninoff; to Menotti right on up to Bernstein and then some (Janis Joplin comes to mind).

I actively participated in choral ensembles since the fourth grade in West Seneca. I toured the Eastern U.S. with my college choir and performed professionally throughout Europe with the Schlierbacher Motettenchor. I still sing every Advent season with the Community Advent Chorale in East Aurora.

As general manager of Heidelberg, Germany’s Schlierbacher Kammerorchester (now Heidelberger Sinfoniker), I traveled extensively in Europe promoting historically informed performance practice (HIP) from Vivaldi to Brahms. I was very fortunate to work with great musicians including conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and pianists Micheal Ponti and Bruno Leonardo Gelber.

I now make my home in Western New York with my husband Greg and four daughters. We are involved with the Buffalo-Dortmund Sister City Organization and continue to travel to Europe as often as we can. Our dream is to someday retire to Salzburg.
