New Jersey native Shari Barbour brings a wealth of experience and talent to Classical 94.5 WNED. She taught music at a number of colleges in Virginia in the 80s, and mid 90s; is an accomplished flutist and guitarist; and although a relative newcomer to broadcasting, you would never know it with the wit and wisdom she brings to the microphone. With her mellifluous voice, Shari’s show makes for a perfect start to weekday mornings for 94.5 listeners.

Shari’s approach to classical music is unique: informative, but never pedantic. She shuns the “stuffiness” so often equated with music written 100, 200, or 300 years ago. Her morning show is a classical “blend” of old and new; and once in a while, a novelty piece, movie theme or two.

Shari says her goal is first and foremost to entertain; to give her morning audience a lift as they sip that first cup of coffee; to play pieces that are melodic; something that her listeners can hum to or tap their fingers to during the day.
