|Steve Levinthal has been WNED-FMís Sunday morning announcer since the stationís inception in 1977. "I attribute my longevity in public radio (I started in college radio in 1965) to my love for classical music," says Steve. "I really see my announcing role as a mission to both uplift and enlighten. Classical music to me is endlessly fascinating, and I hope I convey that sense to the listener."
"My favorite music begins with Beethoven and the Romantic era and continues into the 20th century with Mahler, Copland and Shostakovich."
A lifelong resident of the Town of Tonawanda, NY, Steve and his wife Sandy, an organist and church choir director, have two sons: Dave, a political reporter, and Jim, a private percussion teacher and performer. Steve and his wife enjoy great music, travel, fitness activities, and fine dining.
