BUFFALO, N.Y. – As part of special programming this week, WNED-TV will be presenting “Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo” and “Mythology.”

In accordance with their upcoming North American tour, world-renowned Irish group Celtic Thunder has released their ninth television concert special “Mythology,” airing Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. Comprised of vocalists Emmet Cahill, Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson, Neil Byrne and Colm Keegan, Celtic Thunder’s latest work presents the perfect blend of entertainment, ideology and Gaelic spirituality, providing a modern twist on the old storytelling tradition. They are known for their use of dramatic effects via lighting and choreography, as well as their stage set design, which resembles an ancient stone pathway drawn from Celtic lore.

“Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo,” airing Monday, March 11 at 8 p.m., is a different show every year. The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a national treasure featuring more than 2000 world-class performers (about 1000 travel to Canada from around the world). In a two-and-a-half hour show over 80,000 audience members are amazed each year by a variety of acts, from the traditional pipes and drums to the intense acrobatics. The Tattoo strikes a unique balance featuring military and civilian bands, historic reenactments, dancers, choirs, military displays and competitions, drama and comedy.
