WNED-TV AIRING HISTORICAL, ARTS PROGRAMMING THIS WEEK

BUFFALO, N.Y. – As part of special programming this week, WNED-TV will be airing “The Makers: Women Who Make America,” “Chautauqua: An American Narrative” and “Chautauqua 2013 Season Preview.”

Follow the journey of female self-empowerment over the last 50 years in “The Makers: Women Who Make America,” airing Wednesday, March 20 at 8 p.m. Along the way, discover how women have helped shape America through their pursuit of their rights to a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity and personal autonomy.

“Chautauqua: An American Narrative” airing Wednesday, March 20 at 9:30 p.m., explores the ‘four pillars’ of Chautauqua: the arts, education, recreation and religion. Through a mix of interviews, captured moments and stunning original visuals, this program illuminates the story and place that is the Chautauqua Institution. Enjoy historic landmarks, beautiful outdoor locations and hear from visiting speakers and artists, as well as long time residents and staff. Airing immediately after at 11 p.m. is “Chautauqua 2013 Season Preview,” which provides a preview of this year’s summer season at the Institution. Arts, guest lectures, famous authors and top bill entertainment acts are highlighted.
