BUFFALO, N.Y. – WNED-TV will re-air “Buffalo’s Voices of Steel” and “60s Pop, Rock and Soul: My Music” on Wednesday, March 7 at 8 p.m. and Sunday March 11 at 8 p.m., respectively.
“Buffalo’s Voices of Steel” is both a history and an oral history, featuring personal, often poignant recollections. “Former steelworkers from Western New York were key players in a dynamic era of a booming, blue-collar community,” said WNED President and CEO Donald K. Boswell. “By sharing their memories in ‘Buffalo’s Voices of Steel,’ they honor the contributions of all who labored for the industrial giants that drove the mid- to-late 20th century American economy.” The program was produced by Driftwood Productions, Inc. and WNED-TV, Buffalo/Toronto, with support from Western Regional Off Track Betting.
“60s Pop, Rock and Soul: My Music” includes pop sounds from Frat Rock to Surf Pop, the British beats to the Breakthrough Bands, Motown, Soul and Pop classics. Songs performed include “Daydream Believer,” “White Rabbit,” “Mr. Tambourine Man” and “Hawaii Five-O.” Every song is a classic from the decade of peace, love and profound social change.
