BUFFALO, N.Y.—As part of special programming, WNED-TV will air “The Ed Sullivan Comedy Special” on Saturday, September 17 at 8 p.m.
For 23 years, “The Ed Sullivan Show” featured America’s brightest comedy stars performing for tens of millions of Americans across the generations every Sunday night. This captivating special brings back the show’s greatest moments that defined the history of comedy — legends in their prime with their original acts. The talent includes the timeless stand-up routines of Jack Benny, Flip Wilson, Red Skelton, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bob Hope, Alan King, Victor Borge, Phyllis Diller, Jackie Gleason, Jack Paar, Robert Klein and many more.
Hosted by Mary Tyler Moore, the humorous retrospective takes a poignant twist with all-new remembrances by such “Ed Sullivan” veterans and fans as Joan Rivers, Carol Burnett, Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara, Ray Romano, Rich Little, Jackie Mason, Arsenio Hall, John Byner, Kathy Griffin, Carl Reiner, Richard Lewis and others.
