Influenced by her native Brazilian culture, this Williamsville artist favors bold lines, vibrant color and diverse techniques and materials. Martins consistently creates beautifully balanced compositions, wherein areas of light and dark, saturation and subtlety, and positive and negative space interplay in a symphony of color and texture.
“I use art as an instrument to register the emotions that I live everyday,” said Martins. “Just as the range of my emotions is broad, so is the range of materials I use in my work.”
Martins has studied art at a serious level from childhood, having completed major coursework in Studio Art and Art History at the university level. She lives and works in the United States and has participated in numerous international exhibitions. She also created and taught art classes for needy children in her homeland.
