In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, WNED and Autistic Services, Inc. are proud to present Autism: A Self Portrait — The Exhibition in WNED’s Horizons Gallery April 14-25. Free and open to the public weekdays from 9 am to 4:30 pm, the gallery is located in the WNED studios at 140 Lower Terrace, across from the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown Buffalo; Tel.: 716-845-7000. Free parking is available.
An opening reception, also free and open to all, will take place Friday, April 11 at 6 pm.
The exhibition showcases the artistic talents and creative interpretations of students at Autistic Services, Inc. in Williamsville, N.Y. This educational and support organization provides comprehensive services for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families. The students and their accomplishments also are highlighted in the locally produced television documentary Autism: A Self Portrait, airing on WNED’s ThinkBright TV (Time Warner 21/Digital 17.3) on Monday, April 7 at 8:30 pm.
