2012 WNED KID FEST OFFERS PRE-SALE DISCOUNT TICKETS FOR HOLIDAY GIVING

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The WNED Kid Fest returns to downtown Buffalo for the sixth year on Feb. 4 and 5, 2012 with the fun-filled theme of “Pets and Animals.” This high-energy “indoor carnival” takes place on both days in the WNED Studios (140 Lower Terrace, next to the Adam’s Mark Hotel). In addition, the WNED Kid Fest Character Breakfast returns to the Pearl Street Grill (76 Pearl St., Buffalo) on Sat., Feb. 4 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Both events feature six popular PBS characters who will meet, greet and have their pictures taken with young fans: Super Why! and his co-stars Wonder Red and Woofster; The Cat in the Hat; Curious George; and Buddy (from “Dinosaur Train”).

In addition, the festival offers a host of activities to keep children engaged and excited about learning. Live performances throughout the two days will entertain with stories, songs and demonstrations. Other highlights include games, crafts, temporary tattoos of PBS characters; face painting; a PBS KIDS coloring activity; raffles; prizes; and much more.
Special advance-sale discount tickets are available Nov. 11, 2011 through Jan. 5, 2012 only at a cost of $20 for two adults and two children (age 1-12) OR $10 for one adult and one child. Additional single tickets cost $9 per adult and $5 per child age 1-12. Children under 1 are free.
The breakfast includes a full buffet meal, plus complimentary admission to the WNED Kid Fest at the nearby WNED Studios during an exclusive mid-morning timeslot. The cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child (age 1-12).

All proceeds benefit WNED-TV, ThinkBright and Well/WORLD TV, and radio stations WNED-AM 970 and Classical 94.5/WNED.

For more information and updates, or to purchase tickets for either the festival or the breakfast, visit wned.org or call 1-888-202-2859. Space is limited and these events have sold out quickly in the past, so tickets may not be available at the door.

Through WNED-TV, ThinkBright and Well/WORLD TV, Classical 94.5/WNED-FM and WNED-AM 970, member-supported WNED Buffalo/Toronto provides high quality programming and services to local, regional and national audiences that enlighten, inspire, entertain and educate Western New York and Southern Ontario communities. Additional information about WNED can be found at wned.org.
