Saturday, September 25 at 6:30 pm on WNED-TV – Premiere!

More than 26,000 people live in the 52 square miles of Clarence, N.Y. northeast of Buffalo. Nearly two dozen of them recently volunteered to film some of the points of pride of their hometown. The result is OUR TOWN: CLARENCE, WNED’s 15th community “video scrapbook” production.

The volunteers also were interviewed about the topics they covered, and their commentary serves as the narration behind the program.

Bob Lenz shares The Asa Ransom House, named for the town’s first resident. Ransom was the first to take advantage of the Holland Land Company’s “steal of a deal:” $2/acre lots for any who agreed to build and operate a tavern.

Tune in to discover what else makes Clarence a distinctive place ― from its history and architecture to its schools, businesses and natural places.

While reinforcing hometown pride for residents, WNED’s OUR TOWN series helps build awareness about regional gems in Western New York and Southern Ontario.
