Antiques appraisal event offers live television preview nights on April 7 and 21

BUFFALO, N.Y. – WNED ǀ WBFO Buffalo-Toronto is pleased to announce the 2014 Antiques Home Show will take place on Saturday, May 10 at the WNED Studios. This is an annual community event that offers professional verbal appraisals in several categories, including ceramics, paintings, glass, silver, small furniture, jewelry, books, textiles, quilts, collectibles and more. Many past Antiques Home Show participants have discovered unknown and unexpected appraisal values for their cherished treasures.

“Making a Difference” will recognize and encourage the selflessness that shapes our community. Nominations are currently open. 

BUFFALO, N.Y. – WNED ǀ WBFO Buffalo-Toronto is launching a new multimedia initiative that recognizes area citizens who are contributing to the betterment of our community. “Making a Difference” will spotlight individuals who are going above and beyond to make Western New York a better place to live. It is also meant to encourage other residents to participate in meaningful activities that make a difference in the lives of others.

WNED-TV and Vidbolt, a Buffalo, NY start-up, are once again partnering on a social video project and we’re looking for your help!

Vidbolt has developed a new social video technology that allows you to discuss and share video moments. While watching a video, you can post a comment that stays attached to the moment in time in the video. These messages are posted in the comment stream next to the video, to your profile, and sent to your followers. You can also share your comments on Facebook and Twitter. This video platform is available on tablet, laptop and desktop computer.

Here’s how you can take part in five quick steps:

  1. Check out Vidbolt’s FAQ page and learn more about how the social video technology works

  2. Sign up for an account using either your Facebook login or email address at vidbolt.com

  3. Go to wned.org/socialTV and watch "The Great Erie County Fair" on your desktop, laptop or tablet anytime after 10 p.m. EDT on Monday, August 11.
