Ghost Town Blues Band, finalist in the 2014 International Blues Challenge, to headline
BUFFALO, N.Y. – WNED ǀ WBFO Buffalo-Toronto is pleased to announce the 2015 WBFO’s Buffalo Blues Bash on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the WNED ǀ WBFO studios.
Headlining WBFO’s Buffalo Blues Bash is Ghost Town Blues Band, finalist in the 2014 International Blues Challenge. Ghost Town Blues Band is a modern blues band with an intimate knowledge of both blues, rock and improvisational jams. At the same time, the band’s raw energy and intensity is reminiscent of some of the best blues that rock n' roll has ever offered. The band can turn on a dime from North Mississippi hill country grooves to classic electric urban blues and funk. This Memphis-based, gritty, six-piece has been touring the U.S. since its inception in 2009, gaining a strong following within the blues and Jam Band circuit.
Opening for the event is local favorite The Patti Parks Band. They are one of Western New York’s most versatile and experienced groups, comprised of the most talented musicians that have come along in a long time. From original musical arrangements to blues to Motown and more, The Patti Parks Band is not the same old thing.
“The last two Buffalo Blues Bash’s were a huge success,” said WNED ǀ WBFO president and CEO Donald K. Boswell. “WBFO’s commitment to bringing Western New York the very best of the blues is stronger than ever and we’re thrilled to host this event not only once but twice in 2015.”
WNED | WBFO continues its commitment to bringing top performing acts to the event, along with fostering local talent. Previous Blues Bash headliners include Billy the Kid and the Regulators and the Selwyn Birchwood Band and opening performers featured Tommy Z Band and Dive House Union. WNED | WBFO is planning to present a fourth Buffalo Blues Bash later in the year.
Tickets are $18 for WNED ǀ WBFO members and $20 for advanced purchase. The price increases to $25 when bought at the door the night of the event, if the event isn’t sold out. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. For tickets, visit wbfo.org or call WNED ǀ WBFO at 1-800-678-1873.
