Position Title: Manager, Foundation and Community Development
Department: Foundation and Community Development
Reports to: Senior Director, Foundation and Community Development
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Date: June 2017
Responsible for writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects, and accurate reports for all existing grant funded projects. Provide high-level support to the Sr. Director, Foundation and Community Development and, as needed, to the President and CEO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors. Maintain records in new department database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting for both foundation, corporate and Capital Campaign donors in US and Canada.
Work with finance to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
Assist with stewardship to current donors, to provide regular written updates (newsletters, etc.) to corporate and foundation donors.
Serve as a member of the Annual Report team and provide development input for all written institution materials as needed and monthly Board newsletter with Sr. Director.
Review grant-related materials provided by other departments to ensure conformance with funder parameters.
Assist with Capital Campaign and other fundraising projects as requested.
NON ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain and update any and all WNYPBA Board materials as needed, including orientation handbook, rosters.
Attend President's Staff and/or other meetings as department representative if needed.
Such other duties and special projects as may be assigned by the Dir., Foundation & Community Development and President/CEO
Qualifications and Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in English or Communications preferred
- Proven grant writing, fundraising, and community relations experience
- Project budget experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, research, communication skills required
- Excellent computer skills: PC literate, proficient with Word, Excel
- Task-oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively while continuing to work on multiple tasks with a minimum of direct supervision
