Buffalo Toronto Public Media Welcomes New Board Members

Buffalo Toronto Public Media welcomed several new members onto the Board of Trustees at its October meeting:

  • Martha Buyer, an attorney who specializes in telecommunications law, focusing on communications technology issues both in terms of regulatory interpretation and contract evaluation and negotiation. Buyer is a trustee of the Town of Aurora Library and a member of the Roycrofters at-Large Association.
  • Veronica Golden, a hospital-based social worker for the Erie County Medical Corporation currently working in the Dialysis Unit. Golden is a member of the Buffalo Association of Black Social Workers, Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals, and the William-Emsilie YMCA Board.
  • Timothy W. Hoover, an attorney who specializes in defending clients in white collar criminal cases at Hodgson Russ LLC. Hoover has extensive trial, appellate, and grand jury experience in federal and state courts, and is President of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
  • Casimiro D. Rodriguez Sr., a retired GM production readiness launch manager with 33 years of service. He has long served as an advocate for Buffalo’s Latino community. Rodriguez is the Immediate Past President of the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York Inc., serves on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Commission for the Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Memorial, and is a board member of the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park.

New officers were also installed:

  • Alphonso O’Neil-White, Chair
  • Cynthia Vance, Vice Chair
  • Jack McNeill, Secretary
  • Carlton Brock, Treasurer

The Board gratefully acknowledged the service of three members who rotated off the board:

  • Theresa Quinn, who served 12 years on the board: 2007-2013 & 2014-2020
  • Joseph Saffire, who served six years on the board: 2014-2020
  • Britta McKenna, who served six years on the board: 2014-2020

Each board term is three years and board members can be reelected to a second term. After serving two consecutive terms a board member must rotate off the board for at least one year.
