The headliner for this WBFO’s Blues Bash is the Dawn Tyler Watson Band.  In the past two decades, Singer/Actor/Songwriter Dawn Tyler Watson has earned her place among Canada’s Blues elite. Born in England and raised in Ontario, she adopted Montreal as her home.  An accomplished and dynamic performer, Watson’s fiery stage presence has earned her national and international recognition and has won many awards.
 
Playing festivals and concert halls across 4 continents, recording four albums, and appearing on numerous compilations, she has shared the stage with an array of premiere artists, including Oliver Jones, Jeff Healy, Koko Taylor, Susan Tedeschi, and Cyndi Lauper.  Between gigs, Watson gives clinics & facilitates workshops in Vocal Expression & Improvisation, while honing her chops on Montreal’s vibrant Jazz scene, and working with some of the city’s finest musicians. She just released her fourth recording project in July of this year.  JAWBREAKER! "hits the floor running."  "It’s a fat Soul driven record, with a taste of Jazz, a pinch of Gospel, and a whole lotta Blues."
 
Her artistic style is an eclectic influence of Jazz, Soul, Folk and Rock that pushes the boundaries of traditional Blues into a whole new dimension.

The opening Act is Buffalo’s own Robert “Freightrain” Parker is a native of Buffalo N.Y.  His booming rapid fire licks earned him the name “Freightrain from New York musicians as he always leaps into the depths of the rhythm section with the strength of a Train. 

Parker moved to Florida in the mid 90’s.  On the Tampa Bay blues scene was established as “Freightrain” was not only known for his bass playing but also for his soulful lead and powerful backup vocals. 
Parker has also toured internationally with Texas bluesman Sherman Robertson, Chief James Billie and over the past several years has toured both the U.S. and Canada with award winning Canadian artist Paul Reddick and his band the Sidemen.  He also has been the Go to for touring musicians passing through WNY, Joe Beard, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, Mike Morgan and The Local Legendary Members of Raven and more...
 
Most recently Robert was the First American Indian Inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Currently, Freightrain is back on the local Buffalo music scene.

WNED | WBFO continues its commitment to the blues, bringing top performing acts, as well as local talent, to the event. Previous Buffalo Blues Bash headliners included the Jeremiah Johnson Band, the Noah Wotherspoon Band, Ghost Town Blues Band, Billy the Kid and the Regulators, Selwyn Birchwood Band, JP Soars & the Red Hots and the Jeremiah Johnson Band. 
 
Food from the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, beer and wine will be available for purchase. The Bash takes place at the WNED-TV Studios in downtown Buffalo and doors open at 6:15 pm.
