WNED | WBFO Community Challenge - Five Star Bank
On Tuesday, March 5th Five Star Bank will match all donations given to WNED | WBFO with a matching gift to The Teacher’s Desk up to $12,000.
WNED | WBFO and Five Star Bank have teamed up in this Community Challenge to inspire Western New York and Southern Ontario to make a difference for their public broadcasting stations while also providing free school supplies to students in need. The Teacher’s Desk is the store where teachers shop free for books, school supplies and teacher resources in their classrooms throughout Western New York.
Since October 2011, The Teacher’s Desk has distributed more than 10 million dollars of supplies and resources to teachers at schools in need throughout Western New York. At The Teacher’s Desk, every $10 received enables one teacher to shop for $1,000 in free school supplies and books.
Your donation of $60, $120 or more to the station of your choice—WNED-TV or WBFO—will be doubled by Five Star Bank with a matching donation to The Teacher’s Desk up to $12,000. All donations matched today will make a big difference in our community.

The Community Challenge is a program in which WNED | WBFO teams up with a corporation to inspire the community to give.
WNED | WBFO uses the challenges on its radio and TV stations. The day-long event educates the community about the chosen charity, while soliciting donations to the stations. Each gift to the stations is then matched by the corporate partner and given to the charity, effectively doubling donors’ impact on the community. The first Community Challenge debuted in November 2018 and was a great success.
