Day 1   June 30
Meet your kilted tour director and driver upon arrival at the Robert L. Stanfield International Airport.  Transfer to your downtown Halifax hotel for a two night stay. (Dinner)

 Day 2  July 1
Travel the Lighthouse Route to nearby Peggy’s Cove where you will enjoy breakfast overlooking one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world.   This famed fishing village stands on solid rock above the crashing surf and the surrounding coastline is famous for pirates, shipwrecks, and rum-running.  Return to Halifax where you will have free time for lunch on the waterfront before a city tour to learn about the people and places that have shaped one of North America’s most fascinating destinations.  Highlights will include the site of the Halifax Explosion of 1917, a walk through the Victorian Public Gardens, a visit to Citadel National Historic Site, and Fairview Lawn Cemetery where you will learn about the location connection to the Titanic Disaster.  This evening, attend The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.   Military bands, pipes,  drums, choirs, gymnasts, dancers, military displays and competitions offer the most exciting 2 ½  hours of entertainment ever found under one roof. Day 3   July 2
Pass by Truro and Amherst and travel to the Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy where the highest tides on the planet have shaped massive flower pot rocks.  Cross Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island and enjoy a traditional MaritimeLobster Dinner before checking into your Charlottetown hotel (meat alternative available). (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4   July 3
Island Touring
– The morning is free to enjoy Charlottetown at your leisure.  This afternoon, tour Prince Edward Island National Park including Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the alluring inspiration of L. M. Montgomery’s book, and world class Cavendish Beach.  This evening, enjoy a performance of Anne of Green Gables, The Musical(Breakfast, Dinner) 



Day 5   July 4
Charlottetown to Baddeck - Ferry to Nova Scotia and cross the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island – the Scotland of North America.  Arrive in Baddeck, your home for the next two nights, and visit Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn of the many achievements of this genius who called Cape Breton home. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 6  July 5
Cabot Trail Touring
– Today you will discover first hand why CondéNast magazine readers rated Cape Breton one of the top ten most beautiful islands in the world!  Named for explorer John Cabot, the Cabot Trail winds around the rocky splendor of Cape Breton’s northern shore, and ascends to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.  Lookouts offer unforgettable vista of Cape Breton’s rugged coastline. Also stop in Cheticamp, famous for its Acadian culture and “hooked” crafts and visit Les Trois Pignons.  See some of the works by renowned “artist in wool” Elizabeth Lefort, some of which are in the Vatican, the White House, and Buckingham Palace.  Today will also include a picnic lunch in the Park.  (Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7   July 6
Cape Breton to Halifax Airport – Re-cross the Canso Causeway to the mainland where your tour ends at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (4 hour drive includes rest stop). (Breakfast)
 
Note: It is roughly 4 hours to the airport from Baddeck (with a break) so a mid-afternoon flight would work nicely.
